Needlepoint Butterfly Fly Swatter - June 8, 2012
I needle pointed this butterfly onto this fly swatter with wool yarn. You can cross stitch or needlepoint a design on any surface with a grid. It hangs on a hook with keys. Of course I don't use it to kill flies. <grin>
Sunrise - quilt - June 7, 2012
I designed and made this 8" x 11" art quilt in April of 2006 as a Journal Quilt to be exhibited at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas of that year. I used cottons, metallic netting, ultra suede, wool roving, hand painted cheesecloth and beads to make this piece. It is machine quilted.

South Sea Mirage - quilt - June 4, 2012
I designed and made this "South Sea Mirage" original art quilt in September of 2001. I started it in a class I took from Paula Golden in Woodbridge, Va. It was supposed to be an original "paper pieced" class, but I went off on a tangent and added a lot of overlays and appliques. It is about 12" x 13" in size. It is machine pieced and quilted.
I got a "Viewer's Choice" ribbon for this quilt at the Cabin Branch Quilt Show in 2001 for a small quilt.
Koi Pond - quilt - June 3, 2012

Solitude - quilt - June 1, 2012
I designed and made this 8" x 11" "Solitude" flower in February of 2004. I sewed diagonal strips of fabrics and appliqued a lone flower. I added silk ribbon and beads to the center of the flower. It is machine and hand appliqued and machine quilted.

Pine Hornblower - May 30, 2012
I drew and cut this "horn blower" out of a 12" wide pine board. I curved the edges with my router. I then sanded the edges and stained it with dark walnut MinWax . I made it about 25 years ago. It hangs above my mantle in my living room.

I designed and made this 8" x 13" dragonfly art quilt in October of 2006. I overlapped the background fabrics and added painted cheesecloth, fancy yarns, beads and metallic wire. This dragonfly is camouflaged in nature.
Mermaid Cupcake Pin Cushion - May 26, 2012
I cut a circle from my favorite mermaid fabric, gathered it, and stuffed it, before hot gluing it into a silicone cup cake mold. I added a bead for her belly button.

I used the Tumbleweed Designs patter < A Day At the Beach> to make this "Day at the lake" 8" x 11" small quilt. I changed the fabrics to make it look like a scene at a peaceful lake. I added different buttons to complete the scene. I made this quilt in December of 2004.

Wooden Teddy Bear - May 20, 2012
I cut this wooden teddy bear out of pine, sanded it and stained it with "golden oak" Min Wax stain. I drilled holes in the body, arms and legs and wired it together with twisted picture hanging wire and buttons. I decorated my laundry room with all of the bears that I make.
Mini Yo Yo Quilt - May 19, 2012
I made this mini yo yo quilt for a doll house that I am building. It is about 5" square and has 81 yo yos in it. I lined it with a pale blue backing fabric. I traced around a coin to make the yo yos.

I drew and cut this teddy bear out of a pine board a while back. Then I sanded, painted and antiqued him with dark walnut stain. I drilled holes in the body, arms and legs and then wired him together, using coat buttons. He has a yarn bow around his neck.
Mom - quilt - May 17, 2012
I made this 8" x 11" little quilt for mother's day a few years ago. I printed a photo of my mom on silk organza, frayed the edges, and beaded it onto this tiny quilt. I quilted in the background and used a rubber stamp to print the word "Mom". I had it laying out on a table in the living room for the month of May.
Crocheted Teddy Bears in Wreath - May 16, 2012
I crocheted these two little teddy bears and sat them in a grapevine wreath on my laundry room wall. I used the same crochet pattern for both bears, but I used 4 ply yarn for the bigger bear and ecru #10 crochet cord for the littler bear. I embroidered the faces on the teddy bears. I love how they turned out.

Painted and Glittered Gum Maple Balls - May 14, 2012
I spray painted and glittered these gum maple balls with silver and gold metallic paints. A friend stopped over and we had a lot of fun painting the gum maple balls that I had collected. I'm saving them to put in a crystal bowl around the holidays. She decorated some to take home too. Yes, I know that six months ahead of schedule. <grin>

I made this punched tin alphabet and it hangs in my dining room. I taped a pattern over a piece of "tin flashing" on top of a pine board. I tapped a nail into each dot in the pattern and ten pulled it out. I like how it turned out.

I cut this 5" rocking horse out of a piece of oak that I had on hand. I sanded the edges , drilled a hole in the bottom of it and attached it to a dowel placed in a slice of fence post that I had. It sits on a table inside my front door.

Polished Rocks on Copper Tray - April 27, 2012
I love collecting rocks and used to have a rock tumbler/polisher. < I am in the process of buying another one >. I polished these rocks that I collected from all over the world. They have to tumbler in the little barrel with different grits for over a month. Then they come out looking like this. I have them arranged on a square copper tray on my coffee table at this time.

I gathered some rocks from under my deck and laid out out this rock footprint. I have it on a small table on my back deck. The largest rock is about 4" long. I love how simple "being creative" can be. <grin>

I used to have a rock tumbler and polished many rocks from my yard. I laid out this footprint and I'm going to keep it on the coffee table in my living room. They largest rock is about 1 1/2" long. My mind is always thinking of new things to do and make.

Bottle Cap Pincushion - April 22, 2012
I can't get enough of making these little pincushions ( maybe because I have a lot of bottle caps in my collection). Besides using them to make these pincushions, I am also attaching them to magnets to use on my refrigerator < without the straight pin>.
