Photo Tree Ornament - January 29, 2012

Photo Tree Ornament - January 29, 2012

I made this photo in a glass ball tree ornament.  I scanned a family photo and printed out a copy on the computer.  This way I did not damage the original photo.  Then I cut a thin plastic circle the diameter of the glass bulb.  I used rubber cement to glue the photo to the very thin plastic circle.  Then roll the photo around a pencil and insert it into the glass blub and release it and the photo will flip open.  I then put some clear " Easter grass"  behind the photo to keep it in place.  Then add a bow and hanger.

I made this wooden lollipop tree ornament out of scrap wood in my garage.  I have a band saw and a drill press that I love to use.  I cut a 1 1/2" circle out of pine &  sanded the edges.  I then drilled two holes:  one  1/4" hole for the dowel stick and a very, very tiny hole a the top - to add the "hanging thread" through.   I painted the lollipop red, glued in the 4" wooden stick and covered it with Saran/plastic wrap and added a bow.  Then I took a needle and metallic thread and added the hanger.   I love making these for my Christmas tree and to give to family and friends.
