Needlepoint Butterfly Fly Swatter - June 8, 2012
Needlepoint Butterfly Fly Swatter - June 8, 2012
I needle pointed this butterfly onto this fly swatter with wool yarn. You can cross stitch or needlepoint a design on any surface with a grid. It hangs on a hook with keys. Of course I don't use it to kill flies. <grin>

South Sea Mirage - quilt - June 4, 2012
South Sea Mirage - quilt - June 4, 2012
I designed and made this "South Sea Mirage" original art quilt in September of 2001. I started it in a class I took from Paula Golden in Woodbridge, Va. It was supposed to be an original "paper pieced" class, but I went off on a tangent and added a lot of overlays and appliques. It is about 12" x 13" in size. It is machine pieced and quilted.
I got a "Viewer's Choice" ribbon for this quilt at the Cabin Branch Quilt Show in 2001 for a small quilt.

Goddess of Summer - quilt - June 2, 2012
I designed and made this wall quilt in November of 2002 for the "Name of the game" challenge" on the Quilt Art chat list. I used cotton and satin fabrics, fancy yarns, buttons, sea shells and beads in this piece. I would change the design layout if I made it again and move the mermaid off-center.
