Photo Tree Ornament - January 29, 2012
Photo Tree Ornament - January 29, 2012
I made this photo in a glass ball tree ornament. I scanned a family photo and printed out a copy on the computer. This way I did not damage the original photo. Then I cut a thin plastic circle the diameter of the glass bulb. I used rubber cement to glue the photo to the very thin plastic circle. Then roll the photo around a pencil and insert it into the glass blub and release it and the photo will flip open. I then put some clear " Easter grass" behind the photo to keep it in place. Then add a bow and hanger.

Walnut Shell Stenciled Pincushion - January 28, 2012
Walnut Shell Stenciled Pincushion - January 28, 2012
I stenciled oval circles of muslin < of ladies sitting at a quilting frame > and then gathered and stuffed them. After that, I hot glued them into walnut shells and added some straight pins. I love making different pincushions.

Walnut Shell Embroidered Pincushions - January 27, 2012
Walnut Shell Embroidered Pincushions - January 27, 2012
I made these pincushions in walnut shell halves. To make them fancier, I spray painted the shell with gold spray paint. Then I cut an oval from moire fabric and stitched a silk ribbon rose and leaves in the center. After that, I gathered and stuffed the oval and hot glued it into the walnut shell and added a few straight pins. I love designing and making pincushions and out little treats.

Flowerpot Pincushions - January 26, 2012
Flowerpot Pincushions - January 26, 2012
I made these flowerpot pincushions by cutting out a 7" circle, gathering and stuffing it with fiberfill, and hot gluing it into a 3 1/1" tall flowerpot that I bought at the dollar store < they come three for a dollar in the pack >. Then I added some bead work and a few straight pins. They make nice little treats for my friends that sew or quilt.

Cupcake Pincushions - January 25, 2012
I made these cupcake pincushions by cutting a large fabric circle about 7" across, gathering it and stuffing it with fiberfill before closing it tightly. I then hot glued it into a silicone cupcake holder. I then added a pom-pom and a few straight pins.

Santa Dixie Cup Spoon - January 24, 2011
Santa Dixie Cup Spoon - January 24, 2011
I painted this wooden Dixie Cup ice cream spoon to look like a Santa. I then drilled a tiny hole in the top for the hanger and added a bow. He can be hung on the Christmas tree or tied on a Christmas gift.
